Rain at MTV Awards =D

This is rather old news, but meh. =P Okay, I may have never heard of him before this (my sister may have mention his name before, but I hardly paid any attention), but hearing that he'll be performing at the MTV Video Awards this year makes me very excited! =D Finally, there's an Asian there that is singing, though I would rather it be BoA, I think it'll be okay.  I would love to see him do a stellar performance and just be successful. =D He would be good too, despite some chessy play-ons with his name. =P After listening to some of his music, it does remind me of Usher. =/ Can't wait for his performance and Kelly Clarkson's. =D

Speaking of BoA, I was reading some news about her in BoAjjang in her news conference about her talking about China:

"The Chinese market will become very large in the future, and will become a music industry no smaller than the U.S.," she said. If the time comes when people will answer 'BoA' when asked who the top singer of Asia is, then I will be able to become known in the West even without going to the U.S.," she said when asked about her plans to tackle that market.

I found this to be very smart and when I think back when I was in my business class, this is becoming more true and evident.  One of the biggest trends at the moment is to look at the East rather than at the West, meaning to pay attention and look at trends in China.  They are going to be a threat to reckon with and they are overthrow US from its power, I'm not sure how much I would like to see that power and I'm not sure what to expect.  With China's unstable currency, corrupted government and such, it really does make me wonder what will happen.  I wish that I knew a little bit more Chinese so then say if I graduate I could work in China.  That would be very exciting. =) If BoA can really become known worldwide, which I think woudl be possible, I can't wait. =)

I have so much to look forward too. =D

And tonight another new epsidoe of Mythbusters! =D My newest addiction this summer. >x3

News making headlines

Teehee, time for some little news. ^^; I was bored so I was reading some today, I haven't went to Yahoo! News. I don't know, I guess I simply got bored of it though my sister keeps me fully informed what is happening around the world. ^^ Some entertainments (well, mostly entertainments =P) and some other news with my own thoughts like when I read an articles.

Donald Trump goes to China
Interesting, I really don't know what to make of Donald Trump making a Chinese version of The Apprentice. Whether it would be successful, I really do believe that it would be. It's not just another reality show, they are there for a job. Though some things are a little bit exaggerated, I think it's rather appropiate. He's trying to find the best, why wouldn't you go out of your way to test them? I'm very curisous to see how everything would turn out. I would love to see it to. ^^ I hope there isn't as much drama as there is here, though I doubt that would be true. Chinese are quite competitive, so it would be intetsting.

I think this may give an opportunity to see how China opperates its business. I heard so much how it's different that North America, but I have yet to experience it. If China is going to have a huge economic growth as everyone predicts, I want to see it myself. I'm curious. ^^

The saddest day at Pixar
I posted something like this before when the leading animator for Pixar behind Finding Nemo and such died. Now Joe Ranft, the head of storyboarding and storytelling, as well as voices for some of the characters has died in a car accident. This is so sad, one reason why Pixar animation has been so popular is because along with its unparallel animation was its terrific stories. There was nothing like it and that was the reason why Pixar has become so successful. He has been there for so long and for this loss must be so devestating for his family and Pixar. It's so depressing to hear this and I express many condolences to his family.

Hong Kong stars returning to their roots
This is a very interesting how most of the Chinese actors that has became very popular here hsa been staring to return to where they came from. I find it very sad how they cannot get themselves out of the "kung-fu" mould and make some more drama films. Rather, they are conform to that type of movie and those that would come after them (Jackie Chan, Jet Li and etc.) would have just as equal difficulties to break out. This is rather disapointing for Hollywood, they are spending so much money making pointless movies and keeping to what they know would work. You have to wonder why tickets at the box office has been so low. It's so ridiculous. I really hope that they keep in mind to make roles for aspiring Chinese actors and break them out of the "kung-fu" sterotypes.

I think that is one of the reasons why I am really anticipating Memoirs of a Geisha. I adored the book and Zhnag Ziyi, but that's not the reason why. It's an Asian film that has nothing related to any of the films with just Chinese foing "kung-fu". There is actually drama and a beautiful tale of Sayuri's struggle. I have such high hope for this, espically since the director is really good as well. I hope this would start to break the sterotype for Chinese. It's so fusterating.

At the same time though, I really do have hope that there is changes that can happen. You really never know what will happen. Hollywood has some really weird trends and hits that is always happening. =)

Karla Homolka violates her court order conditions
I do not know what to make of her. As much as I would like to think that she has changed, I just can't believe that she has. I truly think that she is manipulative, she has ways with words and her actions seem so calculated. She has a boyfriend who is a convicted killer, doesn't that seem to say that she hasn't changed. Afterall, her former boyfriend was also a convicted killer. This is so wrong.

I know there has been a lot of media hype over her, I shouldn't be so judgemental over her, but what she done - to her own sister too - is so disturbing. I think in many way I'm thankful that I didn't see her interview on CBC when she was first realeased or any further stuff that I saw on tv with her. I was so surprised already when I heard her voice and how innocent she sound, but perhaps that is just another way for her to manipulate. I don't know.

It's so fusterating to see her, since you don't know her, but you feel obligated to already jump to conclusion that it's something bad. I sincerely hope there is no deja vu, but I'm so confused about this.

This was rather productive. =)
