Spanish =)

Since university started and I started to take Spanish, I'm really starting to enjoy it and understand it. Despite what my cousin says about me speaking is another story, but I'm starting to get used to it, though I can't do a rolling r yet. =/

On a totally seperate note, Spanish is such a sexy language. xP Haha, it's true. =P English I don't think is sexy, it can be very beautiful, but it seems so common and blah. There's nothing speical about it. My teacher was saying how you could speak English without every really moving your mouth, how blah is that? Spanish you have to say every syalball pretty much and that rolling r is so sexy. x3

BTW, I really like this song. =) Spanish is starting to get to me. =P

Bad communication

Oh goodness. >xP I was with my friends on Sunday and I was talking to two of them if they were interested in my cousin's books. They are in the same program and I don't mind helping out my cousin. I don't know why I didn't call, I messaged him over MSN and them used his gmail account. I just got an email from my cousin, he didn't check his account for months and just by chance he did today. ^^; Oh well.

I have to remember to phone with these kind of things next times.

MythBusters quotes

Oh goodness, I'm so addicted to MythBusters this summer and like Amanda I like the forums. >=P Here are some of my favourite quotes that I found from looking at the forums:

I reject your reality and subsitute my own. - Adam
You have no idea how much I like that quote.

Very cute...cute for science!
Oh goodness, you have no idea how cute this is!

Adam: "So is there any danger?"
Jamie: "No, because the tray will contain it. Unless you stick your eyeball in there."
Adam: "You know that is something that I might do."
Jamie: "There are much easier ways to poke your eye out."

Adam: "I dont get it, it won't burn."
Jamie: "Anything will burn if you try hard enough."
(Adam comes back with a gas can)
Adam: "Anything will burn with some gas"

Adam: "Killer quicksand - Is that why I'm standing here in this stupid pith helmet?"
Jamie: "No, you're standing there in a stupid pith helmet because you're an idiot."

I'm such a dork. =D

News making headlines

Teehee, time for some little news. ^^; I was bored so I was reading some today, I haven't went to Yahoo! News. I don't know, I guess I simply got bored of it though my sister keeps me fully informed what is happening around the world. ^^ Some entertainments (well, mostly entertainments =P) and some other news with my own thoughts like when I read an articles.

Donald Trump goes to China
Interesting, I really don't know what to make of Donald Trump making a Chinese version of The Apprentice. Whether it would be successful, I really do believe that it would be. It's not just another reality show, they are there for a job. Though some things are a little bit exaggerated, I think it's rather appropiate. He's trying to find the best, why wouldn't you go out of your way to test them? I'm very curisous to see how everything would turn out. I would love to see it to. ^^ I hope there isn't as much drama as there is here, though I doubt that would be true. Chinese are quite competitive, so it would be intetsting.

I think this may give an opportunity to see how China opperates its business. I heard so much how it's different that North America, but I have yet to experience it. If China is going to have a huge economic growth as everyone predicts, I want to see it myself. I'm curious. ^^

The saddest day at Pixar
I posted something like this before when the leading animator for Pixar behind Finding Nemo and such died. Now Joe Ranft, the head of storyboarding and storytelling, as well as voices for some of the characters has died in a car accident. This is so sad, one reason why Pixar animation has been so popular is because along with its unparallel animation was its terrific stories. There was nothing like it and that was the reason why Pixar has become so successful. He has been there for so long and for this loss must be so devestating for his family and Pixar. It's so depressing to hear this and I express many condolences to his family.

Hong Kong stars returning to their roots
This is a very interesting how most of the Chinese actors that has became very popular here hsa been staring to return to where they came from. I find it very sad how they cannot get themselves out of the "kung-fu" mould and make some more drama films. Rather, they are conform to that type of movie and those that would come after them (Jackie Chan, Jet Li and etc.) would have just as equal difficulties to break out. This is rather disapointing for Hollywood, they are spending so much money making pointless movies and keeping to what they know would work. You have to wonder why tickets at the box office has been so low. It's so ridiculous. I really hope that they keep in mind to make roles for aspiring Chinese actors and break them out of the "kung-fu" sterotypes.

I think that is one of the reasons why I am really anticipating Memoirs of a Geisha. I adored the book and Zhnag Ziyi, but that's not the reason why. It's an Asian film that has nothing related to any of the films with just Chinese foing "kung-fu". There is actually drama and a beautiful tale of Sayuri's struggle. I have such high hope for this, espically since the director is really good as well. I hope this would start to break the sterotype for Chinese. It's so fusterating.

At the same time though, I really do have hope that there is changes that can happen. You really never know what will happen. Hollywood has some really weird trends and hits that is always happening. =)

Karla Homolka violates her court order conditions
I do not know what to make of her. As much as I would like to think that she has changed, I just can't believe that she has. I truly think that she is manipulative, she has ways with words and her actions seem so calculated. She has a boyfriend who is a convicted killer, doesn't that seem to say that she hasn't changed. Afterall, her former boyfriend was also a convicted killer. This is so wrong.

I know there has been a lot of media hype over her, I shouldn't be so judgemental over her, but what she done - to her own sister too - is so disturbing. I think in many way I'm thankful that I didn't see her interview on CBC when she was first realeased or any further stuff that I saw on tv with her. I was so surprised already when I heard her voice and how innocent she sound, but perhaps that is just another way for her to manipulate. I don't know.

It's so fusterating to see her, since you don't know her, but you feel obligated to already jump to conclusion that it's something bad. I sincerely hope there is no deja vu, but I'm so confused about this.

This was rather productive. =)

Rain at MTV Awards =D

This is rather old news, but meh. =P Okay, I may have never heard of him before this (my sister may have mention his name before, but I hardly paid any attention), but hearing that he'll be performing at the MTV Video Awards this year makes me very excited! =D Finally, there's an Asian there that is singing, though I would rather it be BoA, I think it'll be okay. I would love to see him do a stellar performance and just be successful. =D He would be good too, despite some chessy play-ons with his name. =P After listening to some of his music, it does remind me of Usher. =/ Can't wait for his performance and Kelly Clarkson's. =D

Speaking of BoA, I was reading some news about her in BoAjjang in her news conference about her talking about China:

"The Chinese market will become very large in the future, and will become a music industry no smaller than the U.S.," she said. If the time comes when people will answer 'BoA' when asked who the top singer of Asia is, then I will be able to become known in the West even without going to the U.S.," she said when asked about her plans to tackle that market.

Source from http://www.boajjang.com/

I found this to be very smart and when I think back when I was in my business class, this is becoming more true and evident. One of the biggest trends at the moment is to look at the East rather than at the West, meaning to pay attention and look at trends in China. They are going to be a threat to reckon with and they are overthrow US from its power, I'm not sure how much I would like to see that power and I'm not sure what to expect. With China's unstable currency, corrupted government and such, it really does make me wonder what will happen. I wish that I knew a little bit more Chinese so then say if I graduate I could work in China. That would be very exciting. =) If BoA can really become known worldwide, which I think woudl be possible, I can't wait. =)

I have so much to look forward too. =D

And tonight another new epsidoe of Mythbusters! =D My newest addiction this summer. >x3

Shopping for nightstand

Aw...my beloved random journal hasn't been updated in awhile. This really isn't an update, but here's a cross-post.

I went with my dad shopping for nightstand since I need to move my bed out and since my old one is falling apart anyways. =P I went to The Brick, Sears Home and some independent stores. I don't know which one to choose and most of them are either too big or not tall enough. Not to mention that they are bloody expensive. x-x They are about $180+!! ;-; I know it doesn't seem much for furniture, but then I'm buying two nightstands, so if its for $300 (for some of the ones that I liked), then its $600, and that's not even including the taxes yet. ><***

I found one that might work, its for about $320 if I buy two, which is alright. =) The height and material and such is perfect so I might consider buying it. The man there was really sweet and helpful. The handles I didn't like as much, but then that could easily be changed since when I looked in the inside there was nails there that I could change it something a lot nicer.

I have a headache after looking at all of them and so confused too. I think I'm going to look online for some more. Fun. =S

Mind is claered up finally

After drinking tea I feel so much better. =) I was having a headache and feeling so tired, but then after 2 cups of tea, feel much better. =) I really have to start drinking more water or tea, I think that's one reason why I'm so down and so tired lately. Not to mention, I'm feeling really dehydrated. Blah...=P

My tests I did this week is so horrible, I got the lowest mark I recieved so far in International Business. =*( Stupid article, I was so sleepy that day that I barely finished the questions, I'm so mad at myself. I need to keep up my marks, so then I'm planning to devote myself more to Business. For my Data Management test was horrible, I coudln't figure out the TIPs questions and I messed up terribly on the Application. Marks are going down. =*( I'm feeling so determined to bring my marks up though. >=) I could I really can, I just have to really work at it, I haven't been as motivated as I should be, so this is a little 'wake-up' for me. ^^;

One thing that really bothers me is how people just skips and does things at the last minutes and complains about how there is not enough time given, that everything should be extended. That's just BS. Or even more annoying is how people do not take the time out and screw other people in a group project. Note the group word used. Why would you jeporadize yourself and your group, I don't care if you normally do horribly on your own, but in a group project own up to your words and do the friggin' work! *sigh* I worked with people who normally do really horrible on their own, but then at least they are able to do their research and give it all they have.

At least there is something so learn from this, never work with these type of people ever again. I learned that last year in my Englsih class and luckily I never had to work with them again.

These things just makes me feel so relived to be almost be down with high school so then I don't have to deal with these type of people. The things that my sister told me about seems much more of a relief. =)

Someone this week noted that I seemed tense and stressed, well, what I can say? I am tense and stressed becuae my marks are dropping and I'm just not as happy because of that. I feel slightly ill, I just need a break for once, but I can't. *sigh*

I really can't wait til this is all over. =)

A more proper entry of more happier things would be on the way.

Layout Progress - Point of No Return

Wha...I can't find where my brother recorded yesterday's epsiode of Point of No Return!! *cries* This sucks because I didn't catch all of yesterday's epsode, not even half of it. ><*** BOO!! Hopefully when he returns he can find it. *crosses finger*

Layout meetings are quite productive these days, I think we could get it done by early next week. Not bad considering that we don't meet in the morning. =)
